West Des Moines
Christian Church Preschool is a nonprofit, state licensed program
governed by a committee appointed by the Christian Education Department
of the West Des Moines Christian Church.
Our program
has been established to provide a loving Christian environment in
which children may have an opportunity to socially interact with
others, share feelings and possessions, learn to cooperate, make
a positive first break from home and develop self-esteem.
Each member
of the teaching staff shares God's special love for everyone in
their own creative way. The beauty of God's creation and thankfulness
are concepts incorporated into the developmental readiness curriculum
through songs, stories, projects and snack-time prayer.
Sessions
3-YEAR-OLDS
We offer each child the opportunity to learn to take care of their
own needs, gain self confidence, develop and practice listening
and language skills, learn to cooperate with other children and
to discover the world around them. Children need to be 3 by September
15th of the school year.

PRE-KINDERGARTEN
We offer
each child the opportunity to continue to develop a positive self-image
and socialization skills; improve gross and small motor skills;
learn to follow directions; participate in language experiences,
activities with colors, shapes and numbers; and build on pre-kindergarten
readiness skills needed for kindergarten. Children need to be
4 by September 15th of the school year.

9-11:30 a.m. or 12:30-3 p.m. (The morning class time is reserved
for children who are 5 years old by December 31.)

Class sizes are
limited: 4 day Pre-K is 18 children; 3 day Pre-K is 16 children; 2 day is 14 children.
Teaching Staff
We are proud
that our teaching staff meets all state requirements. Each class
has a teacher with a college degree and an experienced assistant
teacher.

year generally follows the West Des Moines School District calendar in terms of holidays and breaks.
Severe Weather

School cancellations
due to weather shall coincide with the West Des Moines Public Schools.
Parents will be notified of bad-weather closings on WHO and KRNT
radio stations. Snow days are not made up.
If WDM public
schools have a delayed start of 1 hour, morning Preschool will have
a delayed start of 1 hour (afternoon Preschool will be held as scheduled).
If WDM public schools have a delay start of 2 hours, morning Preschool
will be cancelled (afternoon Preschool will be held as scheduled).
